several different types of acupuncture to treat a disease as

Chinese acupuncture - Most commonly used type. Good for
general pain syndromes and internal diseases. (refer to our

acupuncture - Originated from China. However, a French
physician, Dr. Norgier fully developed this type of
acupuncture, and now it is widely used in Europe. In America,
ear acupuncture is used mainly for drug detox, alcoholism,
quit smoking and weight loss. NADA (National Addiction &
Detoxification Association) is authorized to provide intensive
training and certificate program to the healthcare
practitioners who are willing to utilize ear acupuncture.
acupuncture - Originated from China. Effective especially
for post-stroke problems (e.g. paralysis of limbs)
acupuncture - Originated from Korea.
point acupuncture - Westernized acupuncture. Needles are
inserted at the tender points. Good for musculoskeletal
problems (e.g. neck pain, low back pain)
laser acupuncture - Non-needle acupuncture. (refer to our

(Electro Acupuncture by Voll) - Originated from a German
physician, Dr. Voll. (refer to our link to Electro Dermal Screening)
Tung's acupuncture - Originated from one of the most
famous acupuncturists in Taiwan, Master. Tung. Currently used
by many acupuncturists in the US. Effective for any pain
conditions and internal diseases.

Jeongeun Fortune uses traditional Chinese acupuncture, ear
acupuncture, trigger point acupuncture, low level laser

decide what type of acupuncture to use for your condition, we
have to decide how much stimulation to apply. Basically there
are 3 levels of intensity.
stimulation - Needles are inserted and left without any
further stimulation for about 30 minutes.
stimulation - Needles are inserted and manual stimulation by
the doctor is applied occasionally.
stimulation - Needles are inserted and electric stimulation
device is attached to the needles.
different responsiveness to acupuncture. Some people are very
sensitive to acupuncture treatment and need basic stimulation
only. Otherwise, it may cause temporary exacerbation of pain
that will disappear within 1-2 days. On the other hand, there
are people who need a strong stimulation to get any effect.
Unfortunately, there is no way to predict a person's
responsiveness to acupuncture.
at our clinic we try basic stimulation or medium stimulation
on your first visit and see how you respond. Then we modify
your next treatment plan accordingly.
Frequency of Acupuncture
treatments do you need? It depends on several factors. First,
longer you have had the pain, longer it may take to get rid of
it. Second, complexity of the condition is another decision
maker. We carefully evaluate your condition to determine
how may organs and meridians are involved with the condition.
More organs and systems are involved, longer it may take to
treat it. Third, your overall health is an important factor to
decide how many acupuncture sessions you need. A person with
sufficient qi and blood responds quickly to any acupuncture
We tell our
patients that it takes about 3 treatments to decide if
acupuncture can help their condition. If you do not see any
improvement after 3 treatments, acupuncture may not be able to
help you at all. However, any degree of relief of pain or
improvement indicates acupuncture is a good modality for you.
It is just a matter of how long it will take to get the
lasting relief of pain.
musculoskeletal problems: After the first treatment you may
have some improvement that lasts 2-3 hours. After the second
treatment, the effect may last for 1-2 days. After the third
treatment, you may have a relief of pain for a week or longer.
You may need a few more treatments to get the lasting relief,
or you may not need any further treatment at all after the
internal problems: It may take a few treatments to see an
improvement since most of the internal diseases are chronic in
